Kystriksveien starts in Steinkjer, the capital of Nord-Trøndelag, and ends in Bodø, the capital of Nordland. These are the two biggest towns along Kystriksveien, but in between you will find several smaller towns, such as Namsos, Rørvik, Brønnøysund and Sandnessjøen.

Several hundred islands are spread along the coastline of Kystriksveien, many are easy to visit by ferry.

Vesterålen; Throughout the summer, whale safaris are operated from Andenes and Stø. Large boats with experienced skippers and guides make the trips an adventure you will remember for a long time.

In 1866 Klondike fever broke out in Mosjøen – This small town in the middle of Norway. A large Sawmill established itself and Mosjøen became the meeting point for English timber merchants, the foresters from Odalen, Swedish mountain farmers bartering their goods and with these tailors with influences from London and Paris
